Taco Bell Goes AI First

Nations Restruant News

Within the last few weeks there have been news about all Yum! brands including Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut and The Habit Burger Grill are all going to transfer over to using AI. This would mean that there would be zero need for workers to take orders for customers since the AI would take their place. This could be huge for fast food industries in the future. If this goes well for these companies then many more will follow.

With these days, convienence is a huge importance when it comes to everyones lifes. Not everyone has timee to go get food when people have work, school or any other day to day activity. Doordash and Uber Eats can prove this. Doordash was made so you can just come to the store and immedialy pick up your order and with Uber Eats you can siimply get it delivered to your front door. With the Ai taking orders it could be faster than a human. But on the other hand it could be slower and not as accurate which cn be a downfall of this new idea with these cmpanies.

For example Taco Bell has already gotten rid of the cashiering aspect when it comes to dining. When you enter a taco bell there is screens that you can personlize your order and pay without even talking to a single person. Bringing the AI into the light for drive through experiences can really complete what taco bell is going for with no in person contact. Which for some people they might not like since theyre are individuals that prefer the in person customer service but with most of these Yum brands being fast food it just makes sense.

According to the Nation's Restruant News it states that "Yum’s digital sales that year were about $12 billion. The company is now close to $30 billion. The company exceeded 40% in digital sales last year and is on a mission to get to 100% eventually." Which honestly [proves that the businesses using AI are making more money off of it since they wouldnt need o pay extra workers to take orders etc. Even mentioning that theyve tested a few stores out with AI in California and its already improved speed, productivity, and has even provided recommendations which is insane for something thats not a human.

I think this is a crazy cool idea for fast food businesses and this could quite possibly become very popular with all fast food chains. Not just Taco Bell, Pizza Hut etc. These companies hopped onto the idea so fast and from what it looks like in the articles its already paid off with efficency and profit.
